Sensory Integration Assessment for Primary Schoolers

Occupational therapy programs are based on understanding how people deal with life’s sensations. We specifically look and test for how an individual perceives or organises sensations from life and body experiences. Essentially, the occupational therapist is trying to see if the child’s internal sensory systems are working properly together.

Attention Skills Assessment for Primary Schoolers – NEW!!!

We look at attention from both a cognitive and sensory perspective. Using our new assessment - The Test of Everyday Attention for Children - we are able to combine the results with information from the sensory profile questionnaires to provide a more thorough assessment of a student’s attention skills.

Handwriting Assessment for Primary Schoolers

A handwriting assessment focuses specifically on biomechanical factors such as hand function and pen control, in addition to cognitive factors such as attention, memory and planning abilities, to determine why the student is having problems with handwriting.

Fine & Gross Motor Assessments for Primary Schoolers

We use the NEW Miller Function and Participation Scales to assess student’s fine or gross motor abilities, who are aged between 2.5 and 8 years. This standardised assessment helps to determine how the student’s fine or gross motor skills impact on their ability to engage in home and school activities and to participate socially in their world.

Comprehensive Assessment for Primary Schoolers

This assessment is useful for students who are having difficulties in a number of areas.  The assessment tools used and areas assessed vary depending upon these areas of concern.  However, this is often a ‘developmental’ type assessment that commonly includes looking at a range of skills, including fine motor, gross motor, language skills, handwriting, visual perception, attention, memory and planning/organisational skills.
